Fred Pinkston

January 24, 1927 — January 19, 2015

Fred Pinkston of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Herman and Ethel (Archambo) Pinkston on January 24, 1927 in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, January 19, 2015 at his home at the age of 87. Fred retired from Pea Ridge Mines as a Millwright. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post #456 in Leasburg. Fred enjoyed being with his family and playing his guitar, mandolin and the dobro. In his spare time he liked to go fishing, hunting, camping, watching sports and cooking. Fred is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Linda DeClue; one son Michael Beeman; one granddaughter Sarah Hamilton; one son-in-law Jim Strosnider; two brothers Linn and Raymond Pinkston; one sister Jean Gifford. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Shirley Pinkston of Cuba, Missouri; eleven children Diane and husband Tom Lorinc of Pevely, Missouri, Karen Bradley of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Cheryl and husband Mike Marler of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Cathy Coibion of Springfield, Missouri, Janey and husband Denis Redhage of Stanton, Missouri, Sherri Beeman of Owensville, Missouri, Susan Beeman of Kansas City, Missouri, Neva Strosnider of Bourbon, Missouri, Cindy and husband Kurtis Schmidt of Arnold, Missouri, Carrie and husband Doug Blocker of Washington, Missouri, Freddie and husband Randy Watkins of Rolla, Missouri; four brothers Tom and wife Violet Pinkston of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Ernie and wife Rosie Pinkston of Farmington, Missouri, Norman and wife Faye Pinkston of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Bryant and wife Virginia Pinkston of Georgia; one sister Jane Vaught of Bonne Terre, Missouri; thirty-three grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Kendall Hughes, officiating. Graveside service with full military honors will follow on Friday, January 23, 2015 3:00 p.m. at White Water Christian Cemetery, Perry County, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pinkston family.
