It is with profound reverence and love that we remember Eunice Josephine Ann Stogsdill, a cherished soul whose journey began on May 5, 1934, in Alton, Missouri. Born to Elzie and Pearl (Watson) Simpson, Eunice graced this world with her presence for 92 remarkable years, departing peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her beloved family.
Eunice’s life was a testament to devotion and kindness. In sacred union, she married Nolan Hugh Stogsdill on May 31, 1952, in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, together welcoming four children: Larry, Hulene, Terry, and Sheila. Her steadfast faith and gentle spirit were embodied in her membership at Christ Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she was known for her unwavering faith and compassionate heart.
A woman of enterprise and grace, Eunice owned and operated E & H Silk Flower Shop in Gray Summit, Missouri for several years, bringing beauty to many through her talents. Beyond her business, she found joy tending her flower garden, engaging in crafts, and delighting in cooking and baking, especially during the holidays. Her commitment extended to nurturing the spiritual growth of young ones through her involvement in children’s church and youth groups, alongside her generous volunteer work supporting those in need.
Eunice’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by her devoted children: Larry and his wife Brenda of Camdenton; Hulene and her husband Doug Vermillion of Davisville; Terry Stogsdill of Marthasville; and Sheila and her husband Donnie Irvan of Grand Rivers, Kentucky. She is also remembered fondly by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, and a myriad of friends whose lives she touched deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Nolan Hugh Stogsdill; and dear sisters Mabel Martin, Violet Johnson, Daisy Brewer, and Eula Bowerman.
A visitation to honor Eunice’s memory will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Christ Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, located at 588 Expansion Lane, St. Clair, Missouri. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the same church, officiated by Pastor Jay Tilson and Pastor Duke West. Interment will take place at Bourbon Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Christ Chapel Children’s Church would be deeply appreciated.
The Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Stogsdill family during this time of remembrance and farewell. Eunice Josephine Ann Stogsdill’s life was a luminous example of faith, love, and service, a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
