Ervin Andrew Stubblefield of Cuba, Missouri was born Tuesday, April 11, 1933 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Andrew Ervin and Lillian Irene (Nee: Rahlman) Stubblefield and left from this life on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 82 years. Ervin graduated Cuba High School in 1951 and then attended the University of Missouri Columbia - School of Agriculture. He worked on and later operated the family dairy farm on Brush Creek near Cuba. He then went to work, in the family trade, as a concrete finisher and became a member of the Cement Masons Local #527 of St. Louis. One of Ervin's proudest accomplishments was being the owner and operator of the Western Auto in Cuba for twenty years. Ervin was the longest serving director on the Crawford Electric Cooperative Board of Directors with forty two years of service. He also served on the First Community National Bank Board of Directors, and prior to his passing, Ervin was elevated to "Director Emeritus" of the bank. Ervin was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Trinity Chapel. He served as an Elder, a Deacon and was a member of the Mariners at church. Throughout his life, he was a member of the Crawford County R-II School Board, the Cuba Lion's Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, 4-H project leader and the Crawford County Republican Central Committee. Ervin raised cattle, hogs and enjoyed gardening. Of greatest importance was his close relationship with his family. He loved spending holidays and birthdays surrounded by his four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Ervin was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ervin is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Lillian Stubblefield, one brother Tom Stubblefield and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his loving wife of sixty two years Mary Jean (Nee: Ambruster) Stubblefield, two children Andrew Lee "Drew" and wife Missy Stubblefield and Doris Jean "Dori" Stubblefield all of Cuba, four perfect grandchildren Jessica Marie (Nee: Stubblefield) and husband Josh Mabe, Andrew Grayson and wife Lisa Stubblefield, Erin Leigh Stubblefield and fiancé Brad and Lee Matthew and wife Rockael Stubblefield, seven amazing great grandchildren Lane, Carter, Anslee, Ada, Leightin, Daniel and Sila, three sisters-in-law Elinor Tucker of Cuba, Ruth and husband Bill Irvine of St. Charles and Pat Stubblefield of Cuba, two aunts Frieda Workman and Mary Alice Stubblefield of Cuba, niece Toni (Nee: Stubblefield) and husband Leon Childs, Susan Tucker-Monroe and husband Tom and Beth Wanamaker, great niece Aubrey Wanamaker, countless cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Trinity Chapel Presbyterian Church, Hwy 19 North, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Dr. William M. Smutz officiating. Special music will be "Blessed Assurance" sang by Beth Wanamaker and "Amazing Grace" sang by Sloan Medows. Honored to serve as casket bearers will be David Workman, Andy Stubblefield, Matt Stubblefield, Josh Mabe, Brad Sexaver, Roger Stewart, Kem Schwieder and Ed Smith. Honorary pall bearers will be Bob Stubblefield, Bob Wilson, Charlie Meadows, John Smith, Ron LeBlanc, Lane Mabe, Carter Mabe, Joe Stubblefield and Rudy Monroe. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Trinity Chapel Presbyterian Church in memory of Ervin. Interment and prayers will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Stubblefield family.
