Dorothy Walker of Sullivan, Missouri was born June 25, 1947 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Theodore and Mae (nee: LaChance) Valley and left from this life on Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Joseph's West Hospital in Lake St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 66 years. Dorothy was united in marriage to Bruce Walker on August 12, 1966 at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union six children were born; Merry, Donald, Sonya, Jonathan, Marc and Matthew. Dorothy spent her life taking care of her home and her children as they were growing up. Dorothy and Bruce spent hours playing cards and dice and when the children were at home they all went camping, fishing and swimming. Dorothy enjoyed word search books, watching TV, classical country music and her toy poodle "Lady Bug". The most important part of Dorothy's life was her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend to everyone. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Mae Valley, husband Bruce Walker, three children Merry Augustine, Donald Alan and Mathew Joseph Walker, two granddaughters Nicole Walker and Andrea Meador, brothers Andrew Valley, Marvin Valley, Phillip Stotler, sisters Margaret Skaggs, Esther and husband Herman Curtis, Bert Sweeny, Betty Howard and Irene and husband Lawrence Reed, brother-in-law George Hodges and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her three children Sonya and husband Gregory Ford of Sullivan, Missouri, Jonathan Wayne Walker of Sullivan and fiancé Donna Hollaway of Warrenton, Missouri and Marc Alan and wife JoAnn Walker of Morgantown, West Virginia, nine grandchildren Kody, Michael and Erik Ford, Jessica Ross, Brittany and Lakota Walker, Alexandrya and Jonathan Walker Jr. and Robert Garret, then great grandchildren, two sisters Nadine Hodges of Sullivan and Audrey Lynn Corter of Park Hills, Missouri, two brothers Louis and wife Alice Valley of Bourbon and Melvin and wife Janie Valley of Arizona, three sisters-in-law Shirley Valley of St. Louis, Vada Valley of California, Betty Valley of Bourbon and Geraldine Casey of Coolidge, Texas, two brothers-in-law Ted Skaggs of Bourbon, Bill Sweeny of Missouri and Charles Howard of Kansas, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:45 AM Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral of Cuba is honored to be serving the Walker family.
