Dorothy Fay (Eoff) Veach, 77, of Steelville, previously of Cuba, passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, in the comforting presence of her loving family.
On Saturday, January 18, 1947, Dorothy was born to the union of James Eoff and Hazel (Osborne) in Bourbon, Missouri.
She earned her education in Bourbon,
Dorothy would marry the love of her life, John Veach in Cuba, Missouri on November 25, 1963, and together they shared just a few days shy of 61 years together.
Dorothy and John were both members of A.C.T.S church in Steelville.
She had worked as a waitress at the old Midway building, and she had also worked for both Brown Shoe in Steelville and Cuba Shoe Company. Aside from working outside the home, Dorothy had the best job of raising and caring for her beautiful family.
Saying that Dorothy liked Elvis is an understatement, she really loved Elvis! No trip would be a good trip if it wasn’t to Graceland. She was usually up for going anywhere but Graceland was her pick 10 out 10. In her younger years she enjoyed going to the drag strip races and supporting and cheering on her husband when he would lay down the rubber on the pavement. They also enjoyed entertaining their children by going to the drive-in theater and watching a good movie with popcorn and pickles. Most of all Dorothy adored spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Eoff; her siblings, Al Eoff, Lloyd Eoff, Leroy Eoff, Robert Eoff, James Eoff, Infant Jimmy Eoff, Gladine Land, Della Cook & Bonnie L. Bockover; daughter-in-law, Sondra Veach.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, John Veach of Steelville; two sons, Johnny Veach & Stacy Aaron Veach and wife Becky; seven grandchildren, Megan Leathers, Stacy Aaron Veach Jr., Deserea M. Veach, Stephanie A Premetz, John Preston Veach Jr., Miranda R. Davis & Mindy Gillam; one sister, Ruth Roach; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Our dear aunt, great-aunt & friend.
