Dorothy L. Wilkinson

Dorothy Lee Wilkinson of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, September 3, 1919 at Cuba to the union of Lee and Della (Nee: Cornman) Ritchie. She left from this life on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Victorian Place of Cuba at the age of 98 years. Dorothy was united in marriage to Willis Wilkinson on July 6, 1941 at Perryville, Missouri and they were the proud parents of Willa, Carl and Terry. Dorothy worked in retail and at the Cuba Shoe Company for several years. She would later become the co-owner of Sew & Sew Fabric Shop and G&W Heel Lift in Cuba. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and doing needle point. She was a longtime fan of baseball and NCAA Basketball. What she truly loved most in life was spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Cuba United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; Lee and Della Ritchie, husband Willis Wilkinson, one son; Carl Wilkinson, two grandchildren; Arthur B. "Trey" Gross, III and Kimberly Wilkinson, two brothers; Claude Ritchie and John and wife Jane Ritchie and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; Willa C. Gross of Cuba and Terry and wife Brenda Wilkinson of Jefferson City, Missouri, five grandchildren; Jenny Gross of Cuba, Aimee Wilkinson of St. Louis, Adrienne Wilkinson of Los Angeles, California, Tracey and husband Scott Bradley of Strafford, Missouri and Roger Wilkinson of Phoenix, Arizona, five great grandchildren, one daughter-in-law Julie Wilkinson of Phoenix, Arizona, one brother; Paul and wife Pat Ritchie of Columbia, Missouri, one sister; Mary and husband Jack Stubblefield of Phoenix, Arizona, sister-in-law; Shirley Ritchie of Topeka, Kansas, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 9:00 till 11:00 a.m. at the Cuba United Methodist Church, 903 W. Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Cuba United Methodist Church with Pastor Paula Brookshier officiating. Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba United Methodist Church in Dorothy's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Wilkinson family.
