Donna Mae Kenagy

November 14, 1953 — June 7, 2017

Donna Mae Kenagy (Nee: Cooper) of Cuba, Missouri was born on Saturday, November 14, 1953 at Mountain View, Missouri to the union of William "Bill" Edward and Bonnie "Ilene" (Nee: Sanders) Cooper and departed from this life, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her home in Cuba at the age of 63 years. Donna worked at the Town and Country Bank of Bourbon for many years and for the last thirty years she was the owner and operator of Lay Bonded Title Insurance Agency, Steelville. On October 25, 1986, she was united in marriage to R. Brooks Kenagy. Donna was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba and was a faithful and strong Catholic. Donna believed that faith, family, friends and love were the pivotal keys to a happy life. She never wavered in her faith, even while battling cancer for the last 10 years. She was the most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend and her daily life reflected that. Donna was always kind and hospitable. Her and Brooks never turned down an opportunity to entertain and family barbecues were often attended by the many friends that their kids drug home with them, as well as any additional friends that decided to show up. No one ever left hungry or ever felt unwelcome. After breaking bread, with the Kenagy's, you were no longer friends, you were family, and Donna made sure you never forgot that. Donna's love for her family was unconditional and undeniable. She was always there to provide the love that was needed; whether it was the gentle kind or the tough kind. She was unwavering in her love and support. Donna and Brooks enjoyed their thirty one years together, traveling the world after raising five kids. Their most favorite memories were made in St. Martin, where they spent most of the month of March each year, enjoying each other's company and making new friends from all over the world. Donna is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Ilene Cooper and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband of thirty one years Brooks Kenagy of the home, five children; Stephanie Cottrell and husband, Chuck Surdyke of Cuba, Trenton Kenagy of New York, New York, Elicia and husband Tyrone Bailey of St. Louis, Sean and wife Jordan Kenagy of Virginia and Allison Kenagy and companion Jimmy Milner of St. Louis, grandchildren; Hannah and Chase Cottrell, Brooks and Reagan Kenagy, Amya Bailey and one more on the way, two brothers; Ronnie and wife Michelle Cooper of Elkins, Arkansas and JR and wife Jacque Cooper of Little Flock, Arkansas, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
