Donald S. Elliott

Donald S. Elliott of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 7, 1929 in West Plains, Missouri to the union of Fred and Mary (Nasalroad) Elliott. He left from this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home at the age of 87 years. Donald learned about hard work at a young age, as he helped his father in the logging business. He later worked as an auto mechanic and retired as a supervisor from Argo Manufacturing in St. Louis after many years of dedicated service. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed living at Indian Hills Lake, taking care of his lawn, gardening and spending time in his garage tinkering. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Floyd Elliott; one sister Dorothy Lewis; one grandson Eric Fields; one brother-in-law Delmar Cooley; two sisters-in-law Isle and Edna Elliott. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his four children Gary and wife Rachael Elliott of Oregon, Sherry and husband Tim Pope of Branson, Missouri, Jeff Elliott of Cuba, Missouri, Tim and wife Becky Elliott of St. Clair, Missouri; two sisters Jewel Cooley of Cuba, Missouri, Mildred and husband Clyde Smotherman of St. Clair, Missouri; three brothers Chester and Dwayne Elliott both of Thomasville, Missouri, Leo Elliott of Doniphan, Missouri; former wife,friend and mother of three of his children Peggy Elliott of Jackson, Missouri; five grandchildren Ryan Mercurio, Jeremiah and Noah Elliott, Katie Griffith; five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Moore, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Elliott family.
