Dessie Charlene 'Chuckie' Phillips

Dessie Charlene "Chuckie" Phillips of Cuba, Missouri was born January 28, 1952 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Elmer "Bud" and Dessie (Nee: Wilson) Sellers and left from this life surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 07, 2015 in her home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 63 years. Chuckie was united in marriage to Clifford A. Phillips on November 7, 1966 at Lemay, Missouri and to this union two children were born Clifford "Cliffie" and Tammie. Chuckie owned and operated Video Stop in Cuba for five years but her true working career was being home taking care of her husband, children and home. Chuckie enjoyed playing bingo and she got to travel to the casino a couple of times. Chuckie had a green thumb and she spent hours outside working on her flowers and gardening. She attended the Cuba Christian Church. What Chuckie loved most in life was her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chuckie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and friend to many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Chuckie is preceded in death by her parents Bud and Dessie Sellers, one great grandson Drake Fey, one sister Merle Koehler, in-laws Ted Phillips and Doris Hall, two brothers-in-law Teddy and Matthew Phillips, special niece Shelley Koehler and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her husband of nearly forty nine years Clifford Phillips of the home, two children Clifford A. "Cliffie" and wife Nicky Phillips of Leasburg and Tammie and husband Michael Fey of Cuba, five grandchildren Jennifer and husband Daniel Garbo of Cuba, Michael "Mikie" Fey and Jessica of Cuba, Tara and husband Nick Weber of Cuba, Cheyenne Phillips and Ben Weber of Cuba and Kayla Phillips of Leasburg, two step grandchildren Angel Simpson of Bourbon and Norman Weigel of Sullivan, fourteen great grandchildren Mya Garbo, Naythan Fey, Blaze Fey, Angelica Gore, Katrina Payne, Diamond Payne, Jadelyn Weber, Hunter Weber, Gunner Weber, Dougie, Molly Weigel and Annabelle Weigel, Chandler and Christian Weber; two sisters Carol Bishop of Festus, Missouri and Linda Wickenhouser of Cuba, one brother-in-law Bob Koehler of House Springs, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 3:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Sanders officiating. Special recorded music will be "You Are So Beautiful to Me", "Amazing Grace", "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and "Good Hearted Woman". In keeping with Chuckie's wishes, she will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cuba Christian Church in Chuckie's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Phillips family.
