David H. Greenwalt

David H. Greenwalt of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, January 6, 1949 at Steelville, Missouri to the union of Harold and Mildred (nee: Adams) Greenwalt. He went home to be with the Lord and on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home in Cuba at the age of 70 years.

David was a graduate of Steelville High School. He was united in marriage to Ella Jo Gilliam on September 3, 1971 at the Lookout Church of Viburnum and they were the proud parents of Christopher and Melissa.

David was a retired member of the United Auto Workers Union. He built motor fans for thirty years and after Switzer closed, he went to work at Briggs and Stratton for six years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his yard. He spent hours mowing, trimming shrubs and brush. His garden was always amazing. He had a green thumb and his vegetables were enjoyed by family and friends.

David was a forty plus year member of the Assembly of God Church of Steelville and spreading the gospel was one of David's favorite things to do. What he truly treasured most in life was spending time with family and friends.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, poppy, uncle, great uncle, cousin, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father Harold Greenwalt, his beautiful wife Ella Jo Greenwalt, father-in-law Eugene Keith Vance and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving children; Chris and wife Casey Greenwalt of Cuba, Melissa Greenwalt of Cuba, five amazing grandchildren; Jasey,, Holdynn, Addy, Fierce and Isla Jo, his mother Mildred Greenwalt of Steelville, three brothers; Roger and wife Nancy Greenwalt of Potosi, Ronnie and wife Janie Greenwalt of Steelville, Larry and wife Martha Greenwalt of Sullivan, three sisters; Karen Stovall and companion James Rice of Stanton, Connie and husband Phil Watson of Versailles, Missouri, Judy and husband Charlie White of Steelville, mother-in-law Anna Vance of Steelville, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Frank and wife Darla Vance of Cherryville, Herman and wife Darlene Vance of Steelville, Ronnie and wife Laura Vance of Helds Island, Missouri, Lena and husband Kevin Medley of Belgrade, Missouri, Ethel and husband Wayne Medley of Bixby, Missouri, Fay and husband Larry Conduitt of Cuba, Anna Lea and husband Rick Edgar of Steelville, Fern and husband Rodney Conaway of Steelville, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Special recorded music will be "Daddy's Hands", "I Can Only Imagine" and "Wait to You See My Brand New Home".

Interment and prayers will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba.

Honored to serve as casket bearers are Curtis Medley, Brent White, Daulton Conaway, Alan Edgar, Lane Martin and Blake Vance. Honorary casket bearers are Holdynn Greenwalt, Fierce Greenwalt, Terry Rice and Duane Stovall.

In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
