Damon Russell Hunter

Damon Russell Hunter of Rolla, Missouri was born Sunday, February 14, 1982 at Columbia, Missouri to Russell and Kimberly and left from this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 35 years. Damon worked for the Phelps County Regional Hospital for a couple of years and at Jodi House for a few years both located in Rolla. There were a few other odd jobs along the way. Damon loved to be outdoors camping, fishing but mainly you would find him running. He entered a few marathons and spent hours playing golf. He was known for his cooking, especially his pasta and steaks. Damon loved life and he loved everyone in his life, his own way. What Damon truly loved most was spending time with his sons, family and friends. He was a loving son, adopted son, brother, father, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend of many. He will be truly missed and always loved by those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his seven year old sister, Colette Hunter and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving parents Bill and Bonnie Hunter of Edgar Springs, Missouri, two sons Issac Hunter of Columbia and Gavin Hunter of Rolla, sister Amanda Cline of Rolla, twin sister Dana and husband Dave O'Neail of Davisville, Angie Good of Columbia (Issac's mom), Katie Davis of Rolla (Gavin's mom), like a sister Nicole Gooch of Rolla, childhood and lifelong friend Clint Harris of Rolla, former brother-in-law Billy Davis of Newburg, third mom Susan Hoss, affectionately known as "Momma Hoss" of Rolla, best friend Brent Keeps of Jeff City, like a daughter Anaka Wyker of Columbia and birth parents Kimberly Fitzgerald of Edgar Springs and Russell Dunn. Damon was a loving Uncle Dada, cousin and friend of many. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 20th at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor David Dukes officiating. Special recorded music will be "Angels among Us", "Go Rest High on that Mountain" and "My Old Man". Interment and prayers will follow at the Edgar Springs City Cemetery, Edgar Springs, Missouri. Honored to serve as pall bearers will be Billy Davis, Brendan Holtz, Ivan Earney, Jason Viner, Clint Harris and Brent Keeps. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Damon's family.
