Dale Woodruff

June 22, 1925 — November 19, 2014

Dale Woodruff of Columbia, Missouri formerly of Cuba was born June 22, 1925 at Oak Hill, Missouri to the union of Henry and Pearl (Nee: Underwood) Woodruff and left from this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Columbia , Missouri at the age of 89 years. Dale proudly served in the United States Army, during World War II, from April 30, 1946 till May 13, 1947. Dale was united in marriage to Wanda Miller on June 2, 1949 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union two children were born; Beverly and Paul. Dale retired from Echo Supply in 1987 after forty three years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church from 1958 until they moved to Columbia in 2002. After moving to Columbia they became members of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in 2008. Dale served on the Cuba Fire Department during the 1950's and 1960's. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was always teasing the people he loved the most. One of Dale's greatest moments in life was when he met Roy Acuff at the Grand Ole Opry. What meant the most to Dale was spending time with his family and friends. Dale was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dale is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Pearl Woodruff, ten brothers and sisters and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty five years Wanda Woodruff of Columbia, one daughter Bev Skyles of Columbia, one son Paul and wife JoAnne Woodruff of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, six grandchildren Dorrie and husband Shane Corbett of Cuba, Brian and wife Erin Skyles of Durango, Colorado, Emilee Skyles and fiancée Dana Osorno of Durango, Colorado, David and wife Stephanie Woodruff of Durango, Colorado, Raquel Woodruff of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Ryan and wife Sarah Woodruff of Wichita, Kansas, four great grandchildren Micah and Jacob Corbett of Cuba, Mason Woodruff and Ezra Skyles of Durango,Colorado, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM till 2:00 Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Joseph Frana officiating. Special music will be "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" sang by John Craig accompanied by Joyce Bailey, "The Great Speckled Bird" by Ryan Woodruff and "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Honored to serve as pall bearers will be Brian Skyles, David Woodruff, Ryan Woodruff, Micah Corbett, Jacob Corbett, Shane Corbett and Leland Skyles. Interment, prayers and full military honors will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Missouri Conservation Department in Dale's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Woodruff family.
