Cleo I. Carlisle

Cleo I. Carlisle of Sun City Center, Florida and formerly of Leasburg, Missouri was born on September 23, 1929, in Canteen Township, Illinois to the union of William and Jessie (Russell) Rowland. She went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 93.

 

Cleo married her sweetheart Edward Carlisle on February 24, 1951. To this union two children were born Vicky and Terry.

 

Cleo enjoyed doing things for her family and friends. She gardened, sewed, and loved making zucchini bread and chicken and dumplings. She attended Delhi Baptist Church for several years and later the First Baptist Church of Cuba. She could be found most days during the week at the Cuba Senior Center, helping wherever she could.

 

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents William and Jessie (Russell) Rowland; husband Edward Carlisle; six siblings David (Thelma) Rowland, Viola (Marvin) Ware, Betty (Alan) Enloe, Wilma (Floyd) Kitchen, W. Joseph Rowland and Ruth Lee.

 

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two children Vicky (Kenny) Holt of Sun City Center, Florida, Terry (Gretchen) Carlisle of Columbia, Missouri; six grandchildren Zebediah (Lisa) Holt, Kody (Lauren) Holt, Kaleb (Lindsay) Holt, Wysteria (Ray) Austin, Sarah (Ross) Trinch and Lindsey (Brad) Herron; seven great-grandchildren Garrett, Brock, Isla, Wells, Gabrielle, Akasha and Mathew; one brother Sam Rowland of Rolla, Missouri; two brothers-in-law James Carlisle of Eaton, Ohio and Carl Lee of St. Peters, Missouri; one sister-in-law Debbie Rowland of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, 11:30 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Moore, officiating.

Interment will follow at Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association or Cuba Senior Center.
