Clarence B. Stock of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Bernard "Ben" and Lucille (Birtley) Stock on April 7, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri. He left from this life on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Sunset Health Care Center in Union, Missouri at the age of 87 years. Clarence was united in marriage to Janet Boese on September 6, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union six children were born Randy, Tammy, Cindy, Gary, April and David. Clarence honorably served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves and later as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal. Clarence retired as a Cement Mason and was a sixty-seven-year member of Cement Masons Local #527. He would later work for Mullally Distributing Company in Cuba. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Post #522. He enjoyed playing golf, deer hunting, fishing and traveling. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents Bernard "Ben" and Lucille (Birtley) Stock; three infant children Gary, April and David Stock; two grandchildren Taylor Stock and Cali Faaborg; two sisters Rosemary Dillon and Mary Brown; two brothers Leland Schneider and Ray Stock. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-six years Janet Stock of the home; three children Randy (Leigh Ann) Stock of St. Louis, Missouri, Tammy and husband Roger Shafferkoetter of Cuba, Missouri, Cindy and husband Scott Faaborg of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren Jason and wife Keri Stock, Jennifer and husband Scott Miller, Katy and husband Paul Rawlins, Michael Faaborg, Carl (Leslie) Shafferkoetter, Jesse and wife Danielle Shafferkoetter, Nick (Kayla) Shafferkoetter; six great-grandchildren Kyle, Raiden, Makenlei, Ainsley, AnnaLeigh and Jameson; one sister Betty Trog of Ballwin, Missouri; one brother-in-law Rick Boese of Hillsboro, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Lesa Mizell, officiating. His urn will be placed in the Columbarium Wall at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri at a later date, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Legion Post #522. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Stock family.
