Charles William Thomas

Charles William Thomas of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, June 13, 1934 in Richland, Missouri to the union of Leonard W. and Flossie (Newell) Thomas. He left from this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his home at the age of 86 years.

Charles was united in marriage to Janet Lunsford on June 21, 1964 in Cuba, Missouri. To this union one daughter was born Tammy Sue Thomas.

Charles worked for McDonnell-Douglas and later he would retire from Fleming Manufacturing Company. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Covenant Praise Church of God. He enjoyed singing, fishing, bird watching, Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing games on his Ipad and being an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Leonard W. and Flossie (Newell) Thomas; one daughter Tammy Sue Thomas; one brother Leonard and wife Mary Thomas; one sister Mary Louise and husband James Stevens; one nephew John Thomas.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Janet (Lunsford) Thomas of the home; one granddaughter Tabitha Louise Morse of Cuba, Missouri; one brother-in-law Raney "Gene" and wife Helen Lunsford of Monroe, North Carolina; one sister-in-law Sharon and husband Billy Carl of Black, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.


Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremiah Wilson, officiating.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to Covenant Praise Church of God 309 N. Mapleshade Rd. Cuba, Missouri 65453.
