Charles C. Stephens

Charles C. Stephens of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Charles B. and Alice (Jacobsen) Stephens on October 26, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans of St. James at the age of 89 years. Charles was united in marriage to Edith Warren on June 5, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union seven children were born Michael, Kathleen, Charles D., Paul, John, Karen and Laura. Charles honorably served his country in United States Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of St. James VFW Post #5608. He worked as a Bill Poster in St. Louis for many years, prior to his retirement and served as the President of the Bill Poster Union, AFL - CIO. He enjoyed fishing, vacations and going on car rides with his family. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles B. and Alice (Jacobsen) Stephens; wife Edith (Warren) Stephens; two brothers Kenneth and Melvin Stephens; one sister Shirley Stephens. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his seven children Michael and wife Connie Stephens of Leasburg, Missouri, Kathleen and husband Roger Rimkus of St. Louis, Missouri, Charles D. and wife Cathy Stephens of St. Louis, Missouri, Paul and wife Lisa Stephens of Collinsville, Illinois, John and wife Beverly Stephens of Kansas City, Missouri, Karen Stephens and husband Steven Nicholson of St. Louis, Missouri, Laura and husband Steve Kleinhoffer of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters Betty Black of Herculaneum, Missouri, Virginia Carmack of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow at Warren Cemetery, Tea, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Veterans Trust Fund c/o Missouri Veterans Commission P.O. Box Drawer 147 Jefferson City, Missouri 65102. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Stephens family.
