Carolyn F. Tacchi

Carolyn F. Tacchi, of Cuba, Missouri, was born on March 14, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 76.

Carolyn earned her degree from Harris Stowe Teachers College and dedicated her career to education as a High School Special Education Teacher within the Gasconade County R-1 School District. Her commitment to her students and community was evident throughout her many years of service. Beyond her professional life, Carolyn enjoyed a range of hobbies including reading, cross-stitching, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and gardening. She was also a devoted pet owner, sharing her home with her beloved fur babies, Shorty and Blu.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Georgiana (Koch) Abfall; her husband, Richard Frank Tacchi; and her brother, Donald Abfall.

She is survived by her children: Matthew (April) Poinsett of St. Charles, Christine Poinsett of St. Louis, Katie Poinsett of St. Louis, Richard F. (Jamie) Weber of Wentzville, and Troy (Tiny) Tacchi. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jacob Poinsett, Haylie Steiger, and Zoey Palmasano; her sister, Elaine Tretter of St. Louis; her sister-in-law, Sandy Abfall of St. Charles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who were touched by her life.

In accordance with her wishes, Carolyn will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
