Carlton "Carl" Rhea Bradford of Osage Beach, Missouri was bornThursday, December 5, 1935 at Ripley, Tennessee to the union of Carl and Lenora (Nee: Helton) Bradford and left from this life on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at O'Fallon, Missouri at the age of 77 years and 9 months. Carl was united in marriage to Dolores Wuertenberg at St. Johns, Missouri on February 15, 1958 and to this union four children were born; Norleen ,Bill, Carolyn and Terri. Carl honorably served in the National Guard from 1956 until 1962. He retired in 1992 from McDonnell Douglas after 36 years of dedicated service as an E&R Mechanic. Carl had been an auxiliary police officer and a volunteer firefighter for O'Fallon. They were former members of Assumption Catholic Church of O'Fallon, before moving to Osage Beach in 1992. After moving to the lake they became member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church were Carl served as a Eucharist Minister. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knight of Columbus, in charge of the fish fries, member of the Elks Lodge at the lake, volunteered at the coffee shop located at the Lake Regional Hospital and volunteered at the Hope House at the lake. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, living at the lake, going on cruises but what he truly enjoyed the most was spending time with his beautiful wife, wonderful children, amazing grandchildren and truly great grandchildren. Carl was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and friend of everyone he ever met. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Carl is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Lenora Bradford, one sister Peggy Webb, one grandson Daniel Schwarzen, one great grandson Hunter Thomeczek and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his loving wife of fifty five years Dolores Bradford of the home, four children Norleen and husband Steve Dickherber of St. Peters, Bill and wife Cindy Bradford of O'Fallon, Carolyn and husband Ken Hansel of St. Louis and Terri and husband Mark Cirillo of St. Peters, sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister-in-law Marcy Zufall of St. Louis, brother-in-law Joe and wife Dolores Wuertenberg of St. Louis, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 9:00 till 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2411 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark, MO. Celebration of mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2411 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark, MO with Msgr. Michael Wilbers as celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MDA - Myasthenia Gravis, ACS - Lung or the Hope House at the Lake of the Ozarks in Carl's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Carl's family.
