Betty Mae Sagel of Cuba, Missouri was born on October 11, 1957, in Washington, Missouri to Sonny and Jacqueline (Deaton) Myeburger. She left this life at her home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the age of 68.
Betty was united in marriage to Albert J. Sagel on August 15, 1981, at the First Baptist Church in Villa Ridge. To this union two children were born, James Alan and Christy.
Betty worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington and Phelps Health in Rolla. She would later work for the State of Missouri - Department of Family Service as a Case Worker. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She loved spending time and spoiling her family, especially her grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and embroidery.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Sonny and Jacqueline (Deaton) Myeburger; son James Alan Sagel; infant brother Johnny Myeburger.
Those who are left to treasure his memory are her loving husband Albert J. Sagel of Cuba; one daughter Christy (Robert) Mudge of Cuba; five grandchildren Kennth Mudge, Alan Mudge, Kaitlyn Mudge, Jay Mudge and Peyton Mudge; two great-grandchildren Curtis Mudge and Ollie Mudge; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Mark Smith as the celebrant.
In keeping with her wishes, Betty will be cremated following the funeral mass. Here cremated remains will be interred later at Holy Cross Cemetery.
