Betty Ruth Hudson of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Arlie and Madeline (Hardy) Frederick on December 15, 1930 in Charleston, West Virginia and left from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 83. Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life Irving Hudson on April 1, 1961. Together they shared fifty-two years of marriage. Betty was a homemaker. Taking care of her home and family were a very important part of her life. She enjoyed bowling, gambling, traveling, bingo, reading and being around people. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; one son Charles David O'Dell; two sisters Deloris Parsons and Carol Ellis; three brothers Carl, Jim and Ronnie Frederick. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband Irving Hudson of Cuba, Missouri; seven children Frank and wife Liz O'Dell of Torrance, California, Madelyn and husband David Pettus of Linn, Missouri, Mike and wife Sally O'Dell of Topeka, Kansas, Gary O'Dell of Owensville, Missouri, Jim and wife Cleta Hudson of Springfield, Missouri, Randy and wife Lisa Hudson of Cuba, Missouri, Robin and husband Deter Swarnes of Rolla, Missouri; one brother Junior and wife Gloria Frederick of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters Barb and husband Fred Kurtzwig of Tucson, Arizona, Joan Moore of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters-in-law Betty Frederick of Charleston, West Virginia, Louise Osburn of Gilford, New Hampshire; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at Mizell Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor David Pettus, officiating. Interment will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Hudson family.
