Betty Ann Hoskins

July 31, 1939 — March 9, 2022

Betty Ann Hoskins of Leasburg, Missouri was born Monday, July 31, 1939, in Keysville, Missouri to the union of Herman and Bessie Pyatt Gruver. She left from this life, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at her home at the age of 82 years.

Betty (Gruver) Fortner was united in marriage to Leroy Hoskins on October 3, 1992, in Pacific, Missouri.

Betty worked in factories and manufacturing facilities all her adult life. She retired from Dana Brake Parts. She was a member of The Country Church in Leasburg and formerly Covenant Praise Church. She enjoyed reading her bible, being a Sunday School Teacher, walking in the woods, watching wrestling, hosting family functions and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by husbands, Earl Donald Fortner and Paul “Leroy” Hoskins, her parents, Herman and Bessie (Pyatt) Gruver; one son Donald Lee Fortner; two brothers Pete Gruver and James Gruver; one sister Nellie and husband Harold Studdard; brothers-in-law Norman and Gail Eugene Helton, John Copling, Granville Rayl and Bill Lause.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue her legacy are her five children: Shirley and husband Marcus Dotson of Leasburg, Missouri, Nancy and husband Carl Deardeuff of Cuba, Missouri, James Fortner of Farmington, Missouri., Kathy and husband Bill Carr of Crane, Missouri, and Sandra and husband Brent Cotter of Stockton, Missouri; three sisters Louise Lause of Cuba, Missouri , Arlene Rayl and Shirley Gruver of DeSoto, Missouri; ; one brother Jack and wife Sharon Gruver of Cuba, Missouri; three sisters-in-law Sue Gruver and Verna Gruver both of Cuba, Missouri and Lucille Wilcox of Bland Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 5-8 pm at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 11 am at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Campbell and Pastor Jeremiah Wilson, officiating.

Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to The Country Church.

The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Hoskins family.
