Arnold E. Clark

Arnold E. Clark of Cuba, Missouri was born November 18, 1926 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of George W. and Marie (Nee: Koirtyohann) Clark and left from this life on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the St. James Veterans Home at the age of 89 years. Arnold proudly served in the United States Army from July 23, 1945 till July 25, 1946 and he received the Victory Medal, 1 Overseas Service Bar and the Meritorious Unit Award. He was a lifetime member and past Commander of the Cuba VFW Post 7147. Arnold was united in marriage to Gwen Grace Fooks on June 30, 1944 at St Louis, Missouri and to this union one daughter Patricia Ann was born. Gwen passed away August 8, 2005 and Arnold married Jackie on June 26, 2006 at Cuba, Missouri. After Arnold returned from the Army he went to work as an auto body repairman in St. Louis. After forty plus years Arnold retired from the union and moved to the Cuba area in 1987. Arnold enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and dancing in his younger years. The last ten years he enjoyed boating at the Indian Hills Lake, riding ATV's and his evening visits to the VFW. Arnold was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, step father, step grandfather, uncle and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Arnold is preceded in death by his parent George and Marie Clark, wife Gwen G. Clark, infant son Donnie Clark and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Jacquelyn "Jackie" Clark of the home, daughter Patricia Ann and husband Jerry Homan, granddaughter Sherri and husband Randy Goltz, great grandchildren Casey and Kati Goltz, four step children Valerie and husband Mark Schatz of Sullivan, Cheryl and husband Merrill Schebaum of Chesterfield, Kris Guerrant and friend Glen Bade of Gerald and Melinda and husband Eric Ludwig of Eureka, five step grandchildren Ashley, Brittany and Austin Schebaum and Josh and Brianna Ludwig, one sister Fern Wanner of St. Louis and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 from 5:00 till 7:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba with a 7:00 PM VFW Post 7147 service. Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri. (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CEMETERY). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cuba VFW Post 7147 or the D.A.V. in Arnold's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Arnold's family.
