Alberta W. Licklider

Alberta W. Licklider of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 2, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri to Albert H. and Callie (Houston) Wycoff.

She left this life peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Steelville Living Center at the age of 85.

Alberta was united in marriage to Donald Licklider on April 23, 1966, in Cuba, Missouri.

Alberta touched the lives of many with her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. In addition to often volunteering to help in the community over the years she wore many different hats. She was a funeral director/embalmer for Hoener Funeral Home, secretary at Cuba Middle School, accountant at Wycoff Accounting and the librarian at the Cuba Senior Center.

She had a zest for life and enjoyed doing exciting things, like riding roller coasters and sky diving to name a couple. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Houston Wycoff; brothers-in-law Joseph Licklider, sister-in-law Wendy Licklider and nephew John Licklider.

Those who are left to treasure her memory are her sisters-in-law Carlene Wycoff and family, Lucy Licklider and family, Carol and husband David Wheeler and family, brother-in-law James Licklider and family and countless friends.

A celebration of Alberta’s life will be held later.

 Inurnment at Licklider Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Senior Center 206 N. Smith St. Cuba, Missouri 65453.
