William H. Usery

William 郢邀邜Bill郢邀邝 Usery of Cuba was born Friday, February 29, 1924 at Pueblo, Colorado to the union of Harold and Edith (nee: Woods) Usery and left from this life on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at St. James at the age of 85 years 5 months and 2 days. Bill was raised in Sullivan, Missouri and graduated from Sullivan High School. He then joined the United States Navy, were he proudly served our country from November 1943 to May 1946. Bill was united in marriage on April 4, 1954 to Nina Dishman and to this union four children were born Nancy, Connie, Thomas and Timothy. In 1963 Bill and family moved from Florida to Fenton and in the 70郢邀邙s they moved to Cuba. They have been members of the Delhi Baptist Church of Cuba for the last 38 years. Bill retired April 30, 1986 from Yellow Freight in St. Louis were he drove a truck for 22 years making three trips a week from St. Louis to Baxter Springs and back to St. Louis. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading, camping, trips to Florida to stay on the beach, watching any Western show or movie and of course ESPN TV Cardinal Baseball and other sports. He exercised by walking two miles every day and lifting weights. Bill was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Edith Usery, sister-in-law Katherine Usery, brother-in-law Bill Baggett and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his loving wife Nina Usery of the home, two daughters Nancy and husband John Hoyle of Rockford, Illinois, Connie and husband Tom McPherson of Cuba and two sons Thomas and Timothy Usery of St. Clair, Missouri, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother Don Usery of Fenton, sisters Georgia Baggett of St. Charles and Delores and husband James Moody of Social Circle, Georgia, sister-in-law Georgia and husband Dan Lee of Oak Hill, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5th from 5 till 8 pm at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 6th at 11 am at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Jim Bruns and Mark Malcolm officiating. Special music will be 郢邀邜Amazing郢邀邝, 郢邀邜When We All Get to Heaven郢邀邝, 郢邀邜He Hideth My Soul郢邀邝, 郢邀邜I Can Only Imagine郢邀邝 and 郢邀邜I郢邀邙ll Fly Away郢邀邝. Interment will be at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Usery family.
