Viola Lucille Sappington

Viola "Vi" Lucille Sappington of Leasburg, Missouri was born Thursday, December 28, 1916 to the union of Royal King and Irene (nee: Ellis) King at Possum Holler, Missouri and left from this life on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Leasburg, Missouri at the age of 90 years 3 months and 1 day. Vi was united in marriage to Ray Sappington on Febuary 22, 1936 at Steelville, Missouri and to this union three sons were born; Don, Gene and Stanley. Vi worked for the shoe company in Cuba for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Crossroads Baptist Church of Leasburg and a life long resident of Crawford County. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, making blankets, gardening of all kinds, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with the ones she loved, her family. Vi was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Vi is preceded in death by her parents; Royal and Irene King, her husband Ray Sappington, two sons; Gene and Stanley Sappington, four brothers; Edward, Alvin, Wilbur and Gene King, two sisters; Alma Woods and Marie Adams and a host of other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn her passing but to celebrate a life lived is her loving son Don and wife Nancy Sappington of the Lake of the Ozarks, two brothers James and wife Golden King of Bourbon and Clarence and wife Dorothy King of Sullivan, three sisters; Ethel and husband Robert Boedy, Alice Ray and Betty and husband Chuck Schefer all of Fenton, Missouri, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation Friday, March 30th from 5 till 8 P.M. at Crossroads Baptist Church of Leasburg. Funeral Service 11 A.M. Saturday, March 31st at Crossroads Baptist Church of Leasburg with Pastor Bobby Higgins officiating. Special music played by Rini McCleary. Burial followed at the Crossroads Cemetery of Leasburg. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Sappington family.
