John Jennings Pratt

John Jennings Pratt of St. James, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of E.B. and Frances (Talbot) Pratt on March 1, 1930 in Memphis, Tennessee and left from this life on Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 80. John was united in marriage to Kathleen Sewell on June 15, 1957 in Overland, Missouri. John honorably served his Country in U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. He obtained a Bachelors Degree from the Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee. He retired from working as an LPN having worked for Briarwood Nursing Home in Cuba, Missouri, Veterans Home of St. James and Phelps County Regional Medical Center - Long Term Care. John was a Preacher and his Greatest interest was working for the Lord thru being an Elder, Bible Class Teacher and Bus Driver at the Church of Christ in Cuba. In his spare time he enjoyed reading and watching different construction projects in the area. John is preceded in death by his parents E.B. and Frances (Talbot) Pratt; one sister Norma Brown; one brother Joel Pratt; brother-in-law Robert Sewell. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Kathleen Pratt of St. James, Missouri; four children Samuel and wife Debra Pratt of Vancouver, Washington, Dwight and wife Cindy Pratt of Santee, California, Andrew and wife Linda Pratt of Strongsville, Ohio, Roberta Doherty of Wildwood, Missouri; five grandchildren Eric and Michael Doherty, Emily, Timothy and Ray Pratt; one sister Roxanna Mangrum of Richmond, California; one sister-in-law Margaret Matheny of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Steven Wick, officiating. Memorials would be appreciated to the Church of Christ or charity of donors choice. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Pratt family.
