Hettie Ruth Pogue

Hettie Ruth Pogue of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of William A. and Mary R. (Boulton) Mosley on September 25, 1928 in Percy, Illinois and left from this life on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in her home at the age of 82. Hettie retired after many years of service at the Sunset Nursing Home in Union, Missouri. Her family was the most important part of her life and making sure all of their needs were taken care of was the part she enjoyed the most. She was known to be strong and independent. In her spare time she enjoyed cook outs, baking, having a green thumb, crocheting, quilting and making dolls. Hettie is preceded in death by her parents William Arthur and Mary Rebecca (Boulton) Mosley; three great-grandchildren Liam and Alex Pogue, Christian Wine; seven sisters and brothers Gladys Sides, Louise Pogue, Darlene Doolin, Idell Webb, Ivy, Bill and Bedford Mosley. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her six children Barb Trusty of Cuba, Missouri, Linda and husband James Wine of Salem, Missouri, Amos and wife Lona Pogue of Cuba, Missouri, Trish and husband Ron Coleman of Vichy, Missouri, Tom and wife Deanna Pogue of Cuba, Missouri, Becky Pogue of Steelville, Missouri; thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Cremation will follow the service. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Pogue family.
