George William Laxton

George William Laxton of Cuba, Missouri was born May 14, 1940 at Davenport, Iowa and left from this life one Wednesday, August 16, 2011 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 71 years 3 months and 2 days. George retired after many years of sales in the Agriculture Industry. He had worked for Sweet Licks Agriculture Company in Chicago and Cargill Agriculture Company during his career. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Cardinal baseball, Indy Racing Cars, movies on the Sci Fi Channel and his cat "Tigger". George was a loving son, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. George is preceded in death by his parents, one son Scott Laxton, one great grandchild Gavin James Aubuchon, one brother Mike Laxton and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his two sons Jeff and wife Ginger Laxton of Cuba and Todd Laxton of Cuba, four grandchildren Cagney Watson of Potosi, Jacob, Alex and Nick Laxton all of Cuba, two great grandchildren Gage Bryant and Graicen Garland Joseph Aubuchon of Potosi, one brother Bobby and wife Nancy Laxton of Davenport, Iowa, one sister Priscilla and husband Glen Steiner of Brownsville, Tennessee, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lathum officiating. Special music will be "When I Get to Where I'm Going" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain". Family and friends will be honored to serve as pall bears. Interment and prayers will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Laxton family.
