Betty Jo Brewer

December 24, 1941 — January 24, 2020

Betty Jo Brewer of St. James, formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, December 24, 1941 in rural Crawford County, Missouri to the union of Theodore and Beulah (Nee: Mason) Chandler. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2020 at St. James Living Center, St. James at the age of 78 years.

Betty was united in marriage to Lawrence Brewer on April 27, 1958 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born; Sharon.

Betty worked for Brown Shoe Company in Owensville and then transferred to Brown Shoe in Steelville. She had to retire, after twenty-three years of dedicated service, when Brown Shoe closed. She then went to work in the kitchen at Cuba Manor and worked there until Lawrence's health began to decline and she stayed home to take care of him.

She enjoyed working in the yard, mowing grass, taking care of her flowers and growing a beautiful garden. Betty treasured the times she got to spend taking walks at Meramec Springs. Betty loved being outdoors and going hunting with Lawrence. She never missed an episode of Hee Haw.

What Betty treasured most in life was spending time with her family and she always looked forward to family reunions. Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Beulah Chandler; one brother Harvey and wife Patty Chandler; one sister Sue Bommarito; three nephews, John Owen Chandler, Harvey Joseph Chandler and Everett Wisdom, special cousin Donna Mae Chandler, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Billy and wife Mary Soffray and Katherine Chandler and other family and friends.
