Andrew "Rudy" Munro

May 19, 1939 — May 27, 2022

Andrew “Rudy” Munro of Cuba, Missouri was born on May 19,1939 to the union of Alexander Manson Munro and Hazel Beatrice Munro (nee Brand) and passed from this life on May 27, 2022, at his farm, surrounded by his family at the age of 83.

Rudy was a 1957 graduate of Cuba High School. He enjoyed visiting with classmates at the annual alumni dinners, which many of them faithfully attended. He was a proud veteran of the Missouri National Guard. During basic training, he met a dear friend who he visited to hunt pheasant in Nebraska for many years.

On May 6, 1967, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Ann King at the Cuba United Methodist Church. They raised their two daughters, Leigh Ann and Julaine in the Christian faith and attended CUMC until the time of his passing.

Rudy was a devoted member of the Republican party. He coordinated many campaigns and served on county, district, and state committees. He was a delegate to five national conventions and enjoyed sharing each of those experiences with Rhonda.

He often travelled with Rhonda, especially to beautiful destinations that included fishing. They were blessed with several trips to Alaska and numerous vacations in Belize. Rudy completed his “bucket list” with a trip to Machu Picchu in 2015, organized and accompanied by family friend, Alejandro Fano of Houston, TX.

In recent years, one of his favorite activities was singing bluegrass with friends and his beloved granddaughter, Alex. Rudy also enjoyed visiting the Cuba Senior Center during his days around Cuba. He was grateful for the relationships he cultivated there and the games of pool he shared with his friends.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Jane Bogoger.

He is survived by his wife Rhonda of the home; daughter Leigh Ann and son-in-law Craig Norden of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter Julaine Munro and granddaughter Alexandra Moore of Cuba, MO; one sister Wanda Henry of Springfield, MO; nephew Chris Henry and wife Diane of Springfield, MO; nephew Pat Henry and wife Lu of Seymour, MO; nephew Rex Henry and wife Joni of Lenexa, KS; nephew Mark Bogoger and wife Ana of Broomfield, Colorado; other relatives and many treasured friends.
